The first step
The first step in fertility treatment – contacting a clinic – is never easy. But remember, you are not alone; infertility can affect as many as one in six couples of reproductive age, and the pathway to pregnancy is clearly set out. So whether you are recently concerned about your fertility or looking for guidance, we will do our best to help you find the right path.
A phone call or e-mail to the Hospital will usually arrange an initial consultation within a few weeks, with appointments available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, as well as some on Saturdays.
This first consultation is necessary before any treatment begins. You will meet one of our specialists, who will discuss your medical history, advise you of the options and start to plan your treatment. Usually, some basics tests will be necessary before this consultation – an ultrasound scan for the female partner, and a semen analysis for the male.
So please call us on 0265 – 699 – 9007 to speak to one of our helpful staff with any questions and to book your first appointment.
Once under way, your treatment will be overseen by a team which comprises consultants, nurses, a counsellor and coach all working together to provide a seamless journey from the moment you book your first appointment. It may not always be possible to see the same nurse or consultant but the clinic will do the utmost to make sure your treatment is stress free.
Please note:
Fertility treatment at Ami Hospital Vadodara will be considered irrespective of social status or sexual orientation, provided applicants meet the stated medical criteria.
Some treatments are dependent on the female partner’s age, which is known to be a key determinant of success. The upper age limit for a female wishing to use her own eggs is 45 years. For those women wishing to use donor eggs, the upper age limit for completed treatment is currently 55 years.
Treatment can take place at Ami Hospital Vadodara with a BMI of up to 35. Chances of success can vary with a high BMI and patients should discuss this with their fertility specialist during their initial consultation.
